Case Studies
S.H. Cowell Foundation
The S. H. Cowell Foundation twice contracted with LeaderSpring to execute
three-day retreats of 100 foundation grantees from Northern California. In
collaboration with a team from the foundation, LeaderSpring managed the
project, designed the retreat program and evaluations, and facilitated the convenings. Lise Maisano, Vice President Grant Programs, shares: “We hired
LeaderSpring to design and facilitate a three-day retreat for 100 foundation
grantees from across Northern California. We wanted to ensure that
participants took away concrete tools and ideas, strengthened their
relationships with peers, and experienced rejuvenation and renewal. As a
result of LeaderSpring’s program design, facilitation, and project
management, the retreat was a huge success. LeaderSpring did such a superb
job that we invited them back for the next retreat two years later. I highly
recommend them.”

Community Foundation for Monterey County
The Community Foundation for Monterey County contracted with LeaderSpring to co-design and conduct key
trainings for their year-long
Leadership Education and Development (LEAD) Institute for future leaders.
LeaderSpring provided consultation on program design, including outcomes and structure, and
co-facilitated the two-day kick-off retreat. Kaki Rusmore, program officer, reflected:
