JOB ANNOUNCEMENT:
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS
BACKGROUND
LeaderSpring is in an exciting period of growth and expansion. We seek an experienced and dynamic person who will be directly responsible for executing the Fellowship program, including facilitating monthly workshops for executive directors, overseeing our executive non-profit coaching program, and engaging model nonprofits throughout the nation to mentor our Bay Area leaders. We are looking for a high level staff member who is able to work with groups of experienced leaders who are competitively awarded LeaderSpring Fellowships. She/he will also provide support to LeaderSpring in organizational strategy development, resource development, alumni programming, and earned revenue projects. The Director of Programs will report to the Executive Director and will supervise at least one staff member.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Programs will:
- Lead the planning and implementation of the two-year Fellowship program.
- Lead the recruitment and selection of Fellows.
- Lead the development of the Alumni Network.
- Provide support for the planning and implementation of earned revenue projects.
- Participate in fund development activities and marketing and communications efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have the following experience:
- Substantial experience in and knowledge of leadership development and/or organizational capacity building.
- Extensive background in and knowledge of nonprofit management and leadership. Individuals with firsthand experience as nonprofit executive directors or senior managers are encouraged to apply.
- A master’s degree (education, administration, business, nonprofit management), or other significant experience in lieu of the degree.

- Exceptional facilitation skills.
- Excellent ability to train and/or coach highly motivated adults.
- High level skills working with diverse cohorts of executive directors.
- Ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with and among program participants.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and confidentiality.
Personal qualities
- Commitment to the mission and values of LeaderSpring and leadership development.
- Excellent written and communication skills, including the ability to receive and give constructive feedback.
- Ability to work closely and collaboratively with other staff members in an intimate work environment (i.e., small office and staff).
- A personal commitment to excellence.
- A positive attitude, patience, and flexibility.
Other
- Able to begin work in July 2008.
- Able to drive to program events as needed.
SALARY We offer a competitive salary commensurate with applicant’s experience and qualifications. We also offer an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage; a 403(b) plan with employer contributions; and a generous vacation policy (beginning with 12 days per year and increasing to four weeks per year).
