At LeaderSpring Center, we are honored to celebrate the many ways our alumni lead with purpose and heart — especially when their impact uplifts entire communities.
We are proud to spotlight Curt Yagi, a Class of 2007 San Francisco alum, whose lifelong commitment to youth and community service was recently recognized in a feature by CBS News San Francisco. Curt serves as the Executive Director of Real Options for City Kids SF, a nonprofit organization supporting students and families in Visitacion Valley. For more than two decades, his leadership has centered on creating access, opportunity, and care for young people across San Francisco.
In the CBS News San Francisco story, Curt was selected by the Blue Angels during San Francisco Fleet Week as a local “key influencer,” an honor reserved for individuals whose service has made a meaningful impact in their communities. As part of this recognition, Curt experienced the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fly aboard a Blue Angels F-18 jet — a powerful acknowledgment of his dedication and influence.
Curt shared that his journey with City Kids R.O.C.K. began 26 years ago as a volunteer and grew into a lifelong calling. Under his leadership, the organization partners with local schools to provide social-emotional learning, recreation, and enrichment programs that help address resource gaps and support student success.
This moment of recognition reflects more than an extraordinary experience in the sky — it highlights the importance of community-rooted leadership and the lasting difference leaders like Curt make every day on the ground.
We are deeply proud to count Curt Yagi among our alumni and celebrate his continued commitment to service, youth empowerment, and community well-being.
