Celebration of AAPI LGBTQ+ Women Leaders & Allies in the Castro
Madeleine Lim, a Class of 2013 San Francisco LeaderSpring Alum, was recently honored at the inaugural "Celebration of AAPI LGBTQ+ Women Leaders & Allies" held on May 18, 2025, at Catch in the Castro. This event, part of the Mimosa series produced by the San Francisco Bay Times, recognized over 20 Asian American and Pacific Islander LGBTQ+ women leaders and allies for their contributions to the community.
Lim is the Executive and Artistic Director of the Queer Women of Color Media Arts Project (QWOCMAP), an organization she founded in 2000 to empower queer women of color through filmmaking. With nearly three decades of experience as a producer, director, cinematographer, and editor, she has been instrumental in fostering a community of artist-activist filmmakers dedicated to social justice.
Her recognition at this event underscores her significant impact on both the arts and LGBTQ+ advocacy, reflecting the values and leadership cultivated through her involvement with LeaderSpring.
