Our Work

For the past two decades, LeaderSpring's highly respected nonprofit leadership development programs have strengthened more than 450 nonprofit leaders and their organizations, resulting in greater social and economic opportunities for hundreds of thousands of people living in the Bay Area's most economically disadvantaged neighborhoods.

Through our two-year Fellowship program, executives of community-based organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area are brought together to develop and sustain effective leadership for their organizations and communities. LeaderSpring also aims to enhance nonprofit capacity and improve services to low-income communities through collaborating and fostering partnerships.

Our dream

Leaders, organizations, and communities in the social sector achieve their promise and potential to create a healthy and equitable society.

Our Mission

To foster a powerful, equity-driven social sector by strengthening leaders and organizations; developing communities of leaders; and transforming the systems in which they work.

Our Services

LeaderSpring’s on-the-job Fellowship Program is awarded to social sector leaders and their organizations, spanning a range of direct and advocacy services. The majority are women and people of color. Collectively, our nearly 250 Fellows and Alumni deliver critical services to over a million clients in the San Francisco Bay Area each year.

Building on a proven track record, LeaderSpring offers customized services to foundations, government agencies, and nonprofit intermediaries to strengthen the leadership and organizational capacity of their respective grantees, providers, or clients.

LeaderSpring’s Alumni and Fellows are its greatest asset. Alumni generously offer their talent, time and treasure to new classes of Fellows each year. Looking ahead, Alumni seek to apply their diverse knowledge and experience in pursuit of a collective equity agenda aimed at reforming the social sector.
