Kim Acebo-Arteche is named Executive Director of Brava! for Women in the Arts

Kim Acebo Arteche, a Class of 2023 Women of Color LeadStrong alum, has been named the permanent Executive Director of Brava! for Women in the Arts marking a significant leadership moment for both the organization and the broader arts community.

Arteche initially stepped into the role on an interim basis after experiencing burnout in a previous position, approaching the opportunity with intention and care. Over time, they found deep alignment with Brava’s mission to uplift women, queer people, and communities of color—ultimately choosing to lead the organization permanently .

Their leadership comes at a critical time. Brava has faced recent financial challenges, yet Arteche has already made progress in reducing its deficit while working to maintain accessibility and community connection .

A multidisciplinary artist and seasoned arts administrator, Arteche brings a creative and holistic approach to leadership-one that centers culture, community, and long-term impact. From expanding community engagement to envisioning a sustainable future for the theater, their work reflects a deep commitment to ensuring Brava continues to thrive.
