Malcolm Yeung is recognized for his community work
LeaderSpring Center is honored to highlight San Francisco Class of 2017 alum Malcolm Yeung, Executive Director of Chinatown Community Development Center, whose leadership is helping sustain and strengthen San Francisco’s Chinatown.
Malcolm’s work is rooted in a deep commitment to community. From his early days as a tenants’ rights attorney to his current role at CCDC, he has focused on ensuring that long-time residents—particularly low-income families and seniors—can continue to live and thrive in the neighborhood. His leadership centers housing justice, cultural preservation, and community-led development.
Recently featured in the Nob Hill Gazette, Malcolm reflects on his lifelong connection to Chinatown and his vision for its future. He emphasizes that preserving Chinatown is not just about protecting physical spaces, but about sustaining the relationships, culture, and sense of belonging that define the community.
As a LeaderSpring Center alum, Malcolm embodies values-driven leadership—grounded in equity, collaboration, and community power. His work reminds us that lasting impact comes from investing in people and ensuring communities have a voice in shaping their own futures.
We are honored to celebrate Malcolm Yeung and his continued impact across San Francisco.
